Jotika (Ruma Ponga (Under 2’s))
Kia Ora,
My name is Jotika, and I am 24 years old. I was born in Fiji and migrated to New Zealand 16 years ago. I have successfully completed Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care Level 5 and am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education from Unitec Institute of Technology.
I chose the profession of being an early childhood teacher as I enjoy working with children and watch them learn and grow. I believe that children learn and develop through free play by exploring the environment around them and teachers are just facilitators of children’s play.
I look forward to starting this new journey as a teacher in training at Nature’s Point, working along a wonderful team and meeting all of our wonderful tamariki and whanau.
